Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Lying recruiters

My son was called by the " chief " to check on how he was doing, what he plans to do and possibly talk to kids waiting to ship out. When he got there he was ambushed by the recruiter and chief and told not to throw them under the bus. One said he had a baby on the way and my son should take the hit. These two jerks have all but ruined my sons life. All he wanted to do was serve his country. They told him to omit that he had ADHD and no one would find out. Now he was kicked out, charged with falsifying his enlistment papers. Given a non enlistment code. We are appealing the code, have our Congressmans veterans affair person helping us. We were told by navy legal to tell the truth. And these bums have the nerve to tell my son to lie to protect them. As far as I'm concerned any recruiter that wasn't honest with our kids should be thrown out of the navy and subjected to the hassles our kids have suffered. They should tell kids the truth and to get the medical waivers or anything else they need before shipping them to Great Lakes, wasting time and taxpayers money.

Dishonorable discharge and conduct unbecoming, comes completly to mind. Nothing more, nothing less.
Will it end their career? Yes. Did their actions end our SR's careers? Yes.
Make an example of them and the other recruiters will take note or they will befall the same legal action.
Simple answer to a simple but back stabbing problem.

I really want to wait and see how his appeal goes before going after those responsible. We know it's a very long shot for him to win but even something with a 99% failure rate has a 1% chance of success. However win, lose or draw I will see what can be done about recruiters that miss lead, miss inform or out right lie to young Americans looking to serve their country.
