Thanks for info. He planned to come home then fight it but after reading some of the posts I'm calling Mr. Senko 1st thing tomorrow. My boy wants to b a SAILOR !!!! Any suggestions will be highly appreciated !!!!

My son called on 3/6 and is getting sent home too. He said it was medical so I'm not sure what happened either. He didn't say much, other than it woiuld take about 2 weeks to process. I'm not sure he's fightiing it. He's been in DEP for almost a year so I'm not sure what he's going to do now. This is what he's been looking forward to. I just feel so bad.

I so sorry to hear. Our boys left out together 3/4 from Columbus. I've been reading as much as possible on this page to figure out what to do. Be sure next time he calls to sign waiver to allow legal to speak to you and since his is medical he'll need to sign vs hippa release too. My son signed up Aug. 2011 so he was a deep for over 1 & 8 months. My boy has called home 4 times do they do get to make calls and send letters. The address given above is correct and will get to him. He needs lots of support for family and friends. It's a little crazy in there from what Justin said. Some how with all the testing and forms they missed boys with mental and criminal background. He called yesterday and I wasn't home so I'm hoping for another call tonight or tomorrow. I'll ask him if he's seen your boy since they ride up together he should recognize him. From what the posts say if they fight they can be there for months, my son said he's going to fight but he wants to come home. He had already been told to make sure he's discharged with a R3 n not R4. I guess R4 will stop him from rejoining at all.

I know what to mean about feeling bad. I'm so depressed for him and upset. I've got hives and headaches just worrying about him. Hopefully it'll all work out.

Fighting from home doesn't do much of anything, once he leaves RTC.  He has to go through the whole process to join again, plus he will need two more waivers.   One for being separated in bootcamp and one for what ever he was separated for, along with any other waivers he had the first time he joined.  Also once he leaves bootcamp, no recruiter will even touch him for at least 6+ months.  If he wants to fight it, he should stay there and fight it.  As far as the "issues" with those in ship 5 a lot of them fake it so they can get out of bootcamp and just act all crazy.

What if they don't fight it? How long do they have to be in this "ship 5" that I have heard as a wait station to get into hell?

Have either one of you heard from your SR?

I've heard from my son twice since he's been in Ship 5, both on Tuesdays. He was only allowed to make calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm not sure that's true in all areas of ship 5. He went in on March 6 and is coming home today. That's just over 2 weeks so not long. It's the not knowing what's going on that's hard.

I totally understand about the not knowing part. My son arrived march 13 just a week behind your son. He had been assigned his ship and moved in. Went to medical for a head ache and  got reemed by a officer for that,  I don't want to say too much here. Anyway here I am as you have been waiting. Did your son happen to tell you how he was treated while on ship 5. I have heard it is bad. I also heard ship 5 is FULL. 200 bunks and it is full. I know not everyone there is due to medical but something just does not sound right. I cant help but think the situation up in DC and all the cut backs play in in all this! Do you know how long it took your son to meet with legal.

He said it wasn't bad, just still military. The petty officers are ok, that's their job. He said it is really boring though. It is full. I think you're right about the cut-backs, or else they just always over-recruit and then the weed out a lot. He met with legal about a week after being sent and then got his discharge the next week. Good luck to you and your son.

If you look back there is always a large number of recruits being separated.

All branches over recruit

My son Justin said its not horrible but ready to leave. We've been told to have him fight it I'd he c wants to stay but he did say it can get kinda crazy there. He's made a few friends that have helped him get through but he did has some issues on the v outside that are being with him. A girl that already had a boyfriend n duff my v tell b him than they broke up. They were tight n looking forward to future but she c was just playing for what she get right then. He had no clue. He soul or v be v home next c week n not sure what he wants to do.

My son will  be home tonight. He's flying home finally. We'll see how this goes. Good Luck to everyone on here.
