Hi all! It has been forever since I have been on here. Dereck is doing well, started his second set of classes this past week. Says he is on night classes now. He graduated salutatorian at his Sub School. His last two roommates have completed and moved on, therefore he now has two new roommates that he says he doesnt really care for because they are "slobs." (actually referred to them as the way he and his brother are at home). Things are going well for me here in Florida. We are enjoying the beach and alot of sun!
I hope all of you are doing well and also your young men are loving the Navy life.

Dereck left day before yesterday in the middle of the night to go to Groton Ct. Said he was flying into Boston and taking the train into Groton. I got a call from Ct today but all I heard was a buzzing on the line and then a disconnect. I am hoping he calls back soon. I have a friend that moved up there not an hour or so from Dereck that said he would come get him for liberty and take him out. This friend is also the same person that gave Dereck his first job- and to see how much he has grown!! I am so proud of the yound man he has become!

I am in my motel room in my pink fluffy jammies. Anxiously waiting for PIR tomorrow- I know I wont be able to sleep. It was so nice to get to finally meet you guys! We really should plan on getting together with our guys sometime this weekend! See you all in the morning!

yep got the call also.. I am so proud! I got to talk to him for 30 minutes, then he called back about an hour later and we talked for another 30 minutes... It was so good to hear his voice. Thats the first time I have actually gotten to talk to him since before he left for boot camp. The one call I did get at 4 weeks was only 5 minutes and it was long enough for him to tell me what he needed to tell me about graduation and goodbye. I feel so much better. My, how he has changed- DEFINITELY a grown man!

My prayers are with you, and all of us. It has blown down several inches of snow overnight here. Schools are closed. I am still trying to figure out how I am supposed to get everyone rounded up and to Dallas for our flight. Luckily it is supposecd to be in the 50's tomorrow so if I have to, I can pull an all nighter and round everyone up a day later. Guess we are all in this together! I am NOT driving to PIR so this weather better clear up. POWER OF PRAYER LADIES!
