What a day...heavy sigh!

I don't think I'll ever forget hearing him say, "I'm now a U.S. Sailor."

They've been up 36 hours and he's is looking forward to Taps at 2000 hours. The Red Bull he had with his pizza should keep him energized until then. He sounded so relieved. This is the first time I've talked with him since he left on 7/6 and I have to say that he has definitely matured.

The guys going to Meridian won't leave until 1800 hours on Friday. I guess some of the sailors are planning Six Flags that day...when they can be in their khaki shirts and black pants.

Saturday is Captain's Cup and it sounds like Ship 07 Div 289 has a good shot at winning. Biggest challengers will be the Seal division, but as it stands right now, they have out performed the Seals. I asked him if he'd like to be a Seal and he said, "No, I've seen how they work out."

He wants Harry & David...Moose Munch & Bing Cherries! He really wants my homemade Strawberry Shortcake, but that'll have to wait until he gets through A School.

I'm sure all of you are as elated as we are! PIR is less than a week away!
