oh--and tell me more about the pins and ribbons--is it too late to get on board with this??
Comment by Rames on August 25, 2010 at 8:18am
Thank you, Marla! What a warm welcome =) I am currently living back in Oklahoma (after 22 yrs away, married to a sailor and raising three kids--east coast then 14 yrs in Austin Tx area) after 21 yrs of marriage--sadly, we divorced this past Dec.
Even though our kids are grown, Tommy is 21, Jacy & Jake are 19--it has been a very tough year for all of us.
Jake, my CTI recruit depped in right after high school graduation 09--he had to wait around for so long to ship off to boot camp that we weren't sure if he would make it--but he did!! I am so proud of the man he is becoming and the path he has chosen!! He is an amazing young man, strong, sensitive, creative, intelligent and very quick witted! It has been tough not having him around---esp for his twin sister, Jacy. She has missed him more than words can say =(
We, his siblings and I will be making the road trip up to Great Lakes next week--we wont be there in time for the m&g =( as Jacy is flying into OKC the morning of the 1st. But I look forward to getting to know each of you as much as possible between now and then, so it will be great to actually meet yall at the PIR!!

I can't believe I just found y'all a week before Jake is due to graduate! LOL
I can't begin to tell you how nice it would've been to know some of you over the past several weeks-- Oh well, I do hope it's alright for me to jump in now, I will do my best to "get to know" y'all as much as possible in a week! =) haha

Appears the watch may be on back order. If we don't have it by PIR, we'll give it to him when he has his break after A School and before his heads off to his first station. :-(

No meet & greet for us...we won't arrive until around midnight on 9/1. We'll see you at PIR.

Prayers and thoughts for our guys are all good. Appears prayers are in order for Jackie & Mike's dog, too.

Sending all of you a big hug.

Hi everyone, oh my, is everyones heart in their throat like mine. I know the guys will do fine, it is a mixture of them just getting it done and excitement of it almost being time to go see my son!!! I am disappointed though we will not make the meet and greet, I was really looking forward to meeting everyone face to face. Our oldest daughter has to work the overnight shift, she is a nurse, and we won't be able to leave as early as we were going too. I really apologize jhenderson if you made our ribbons already. boymom3 I am with you on the prayers!! I can not wait for the call!!! You guys have a great day.
