TammyP, did I successfully delete my e-mail from Friday? Thanks.

Leeletta, Nick is attending Mass with my son Wade. There are six of them. I am so glad they have that hour with Him. We have three hurricanes brewing, just what I need. I was so worried about that with a 9/11 graduation and 9/26 wedding for my daughter.

Latasha, I was just thinking about you this weekend that we hadn't heard from you lately. How is your mother-in-law?

No call here either this weekend. I am hoping for a letter today since they can write on Thursdays now. Wade said he can't write every day anymore because they got in trouble for it. I sure hope I didn't get him trouble from mentioning it on this website.

I was so sure we would get a call this weekend and, as usual, had my phone by my side all weekend. I will be so glad to be able to peel away from it in a little over three weeks. (That sounds so good). I even put it on vibrate in Mass and put in by my leg in case the call came through. Anna, I was just telling my mother this weekend that it is sad that out of 80 guys, we've only found 12 mothers. I thank God every moment though that I have found all of you.

Whoops, Tammy. Thanks for the reminder. What a big slip up. I'll fix that right now. Darius was awesome except that it was outside and it rained the entire concert. It was too good to leave though.

Exactly. No matter what and no matter how old they are, we will always worry. It's our job. One funny thing in his letter - he said we won't recognize him because he has gotten bigger. When I talked to him on the phone that night, he said he'd put on seven pounds. The recruiter got a kick out of that. He said "oh wow, maybe now he weights 115!"

This is a teary Friday - Wade said the same thing. He said in his earlier letters that writing us is his entertainment. Now they sing with each other, talk about graduation and all their new found freedom and money, what they would be doing that evening if they were home and re-read the letters they've received.

I agree as well. I've never been the type to be depressed but I was definitely bordering on it before those first letters came. Now I still miss him so terribly but am so proud of him.

It sure sounds like my son is surrounded by a great group of guys. I can't wait to meet all of them.

Carolyn, I'll pass the word. Wade said he can't write every day anymore becuase they got in trouble for it. They can only write Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. He said things are starting to pick up around there and that this week was "gonna" be a busy one. They have Marlinspike, simulator gun range and another inspection. He said he "thinks about home every now and then but I have to keep my mind on the mission. I'm really starting to turn into a Sailor I think." Of course, this made the tears flow as I saw my little boy turn into a man in four weeks. He said they are still all worried about the Grad and Go and to please find out as much information about it as I can. I explained it to him on the phone last week but I'll have to re-write the explanation to him. He said they are so looking forward to graduation because the time is flying by quickly and they are excited that it is on 9/11.
