ecrmom429,
My son is having a great time at A school. He was PIR 9-14.
He posts pictures of himself and his friends all the time on facebook and calls his wife or Skypes with her daily. He was able to do that as soon as he got there. After ten days they made phase III, he said, "Phase III just means I can wear my civilian clothes when I'm not on duty and I'm free to go into town now. I'll probably graduate pretty fast though. It is self paced, and I don't have much else to do besides study."
He said, "A-School is really cool. I'm in Meridian Mississippi, on an air base out in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere. It feels kind of like a camp ground. It's weird, because you pretty much have to hike through these thick dark Mississippi woods to get anywhere, and all the buildings look the same on the outside. I am enjoying the extra freedoms and I am here with some cool people. There are only 400 staff and students on base, so it is pretty small. But we have a really nice rec center with a bunch of ps3s, wiis and 360s, pool tables etc. A gym, two lakes that we can take boats out on, the galley is pretty much a giant diner (rotating pie displays, just grab whatever you want). We have a bowling alley and a free movie theater right on base."
I have gathered some web sites Logistics specialist. I looked these up when I found out my son chose that rate. I hope they help you. Just put Logistics Specialist in Google and have fun.

Hope your SR does great. My son is LSSN now which means Logistics Specialist Seaman. He came out of basic an E3. He still has not heard where him and his wife are going to be stationed yet so we are still waiting to hear that. We are Praying it will be state side and lower 48. If you need anything I can help with just ask.
Linda
