Hi Mamabeans!!  Chris also went to Merridian (4 years ago lol).  He is in charge of ordering parts for his airplane mechanics, and he does like it.  they are in the process of moving from JAX to VA, once they're settled he will be going to San Diego for a month of schooling, he'll be doing the same job just for different planes so he has to learn all about them.  His wife will be switching jobs completely, she'll be going from and air base to an Air Craft Carrier which I'm guessing will be a huge change for her (she is LS too)

@browns57 that is a really really long time, I'm wondering if it was lost for a while, even when Chris was deployed it only took about 7-10 days.  Happy your son finally got it tho:)

It's been a while since I've been online, I guess I should start paying more attention LOL

Well after 3 1/2 long weeks the priority package I sent my son with his birth certificate & W2 finally got to him.  Now he can do his taxes and get his milltary passport.  He said that he had heard the mail on base was slow but I never thought it would take so long.

maybe some of you new Mom's might think about sending the birth certificate with your Sailor when they go to their first duty station.  If I had of realized I would have done that, he was home for 10 days between A School & San Diego.

It is nice I will be able to get more info about what kind of job he will be doing.  He hasn't really told me a lot.  And the info I have is that he could be working in NEX, a post office, a ship shop, etc etc.... what the heck will he be doing???

Welcome Mamabeans to the group, it seems like most people on here have Sailors that have been in for awhile.  I haven't been in this group to long.  My son PIR back in October and completed A school at the end of November, he is now at his first duty station in San Diego.  There is also a group for A School in Meridian, MS

My son is an LS and left for bootcamp on 2-13.  His PIR is 04-13-12 and is Ship 03 Division 116.  Anyone else have an LS in bootcamp right now and will be going to Mississippi?
