FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Chris was in Meridian, and liked it enough, but outside od school there is not much to do. He really likes his job tho and also is in Jax although he is now (as of last fri) on dep in Qatar. So workhard if ur son is heading to jax that is an air base which usually means he will always be on base instead of on board ship

My son will be there first of July. How is school going for your son? Is it a self-paced program as I have heard? Just curious...don't see too many post or info on Logistic Specialist.

Hi my son is @ Meridian MS in Logistic Specialist program. He had boot camp 5/06 @ Great Lakes.  He got orders saying when done with A-school he will be going to Jacksonville FL; he's very excitied.  Wondering how others spouses or sons/daughters liked their schooling/jobs.

Hi Donna! How time goes by....... Chris is in 4 years this Sept and he just re-upped for just 1 year, how he did that I haven't a clue I thought the min was 2 but anyway he's stationed in Jax FL but leaving for dep shortly. I feel for you with your son heading so far for so long but I agree honey, get that passport!!!! I would love to go to Greece it is so beautiful. Friends of mine have family there and I'm sure they would welcome you:)

And by the way I am originally from W Spfld MA, my ex worked in Windsor Locks and my daughter lives in Enfield

Luvin I'm sorry I'm late but how wonderful was your son's PIR? Is that the most amazing sight? I'm hoping I can get the time off work to go see Chris come home from dep, another dozen boxes of tissues lol

I will be driving to IL for PIR starting Tuesday after 2 of my other children get out of school.
