My son got back to Lemoore last nite. I think he was a little happy to get back to his normal routine whatever that is? LOL He learned that his roomate that he has been with for 14 months is moving to a different barracks. ( due to squadron change). He was a little dissappointed, said mom nothing I can do to change it. I told him its just another day in your life as a sailor. On the inside I was sad cuz they have become close. While we were at the airport yesterday some Army soilders were just coming back from Afgan deployment. Gave me goosebumps. May God bless all of our troops who have served past and present.

Hi Becky! I haven't been on much lately either, it's nice to sit out on the deck instead of on the computer. I'm glad for you being able to see your son. How is he? I know when Chris is home he talks non-stop LOL. Chris is going to Japan on a mini deployment, not sure when but it's soon, but only for a month. He's really looking forward to it. Enjoy the time you have left with your sailor boy :)

Hope all had a great mothers day! Lynda you should be very proud of him he sounds like a wonderful young man. Does he want to marry my daughter? She told my son she is looking for a good sailor. LOL . Well I am off to the airport to pick up my son. 18 days of having him home. I guess I will have to let him hang out with his buddies sometime I guess.... :)

Hismom, I'm so glad your son is happy and relieved (and you too!) Chris did say in LS school there was a lot to memorize so between that and not doing well on tests maybe it just wasn't meant for him. I'll be looking for him on the cooking channels :)

Thanks you for the well wishes! It is a relief that he isn't going day by day worrying that he may fail another test. Now he can start fresh and he knows what is expected. This will be more hands on and he learns easier that way. I don't know how well he will do as he only ever made frozen pizza or chicken patties. It will be a great learning experience! Still don't understand why LS school gave him so much trouble!

WEll, my son was dropped from the LS program, luckily they gave him a couple other jobs to chose from. He is going to be a culinary specialists so back to GReat Lakes for school. At least they are giving him a shot at something else, he knew of 2 guys that got discharged after they were dropped from their program, so he considers himself lucky.
