Donna, I have the Conn River too although it's about 5 mi from me and I'm very uphill the river seperates NH from VT and we're in NH, but I recently moved here from West Springfield, MA where the Conn River was only 200' from my house. Funny 3 different states and the same river LOL. But on another note, I work for CVS and the corp offices are in RI, the whole chain had lost everything cause RI is flooded. The pharmacies are (or were) are completely down and we couldn't use debit cards and our computers........yup down too. I was glad to go home LOL

Sad news today tho, my mother inlaw had a heart attack this am and she's in surgery as I'm typing. My hubby and his siblings are with her, stinks it's over an hour away from here :(

mine has had nothing taken either...jinx too. But I was surprised to hear of the stealing that takes place. It is sad. I worked with a woman's son who quit the Navy cuz he stuff was always be taken. I didn't believe that was the reason he quit now I am starting to believe it. Arron had his motorcycle stolen. WOW!! Anyone know if you can get renters insurance for the barraks? You would think whoever stole his DL would at least dump it somewhere so someone could find it and return it. Someone in my other group son has his game taken right out of his lap as he was sleeping...thats really low!! Thanks for all the info I will look into the insurance. I told my husband I can't believe this happens. I always thought the kids were suppose to have each others back.. LOL what do I know?? :)

Forgot to ask about this...we are talking about stealing in the navy on my other group. Have any of your sailors had stuff taken from them?

Thanks for the prayers she is looking to be released at the end of the week. My son put his leave chit in on Friday. He thinks its not going to be approved. I am hoping it gets approved, he needs a break from the navy. Anyone know how long it takes to get approved?

Ok Haven't been on..lots going on. Baby Ava was transferred to Univ. of Chicago hosp. she is receiving diayalsis (SP)?. Please keep her and my neice in your prayers. Like everyone else my son was also pushed into this job. Right now his base is so short of people he is working 12 to 14 hour days. His squadron is merging with another and no new people are coming to Oct. He tells me its complicated mom!! I wouldn't understand. :) Because they are so short he was told when he put his leave chit in Fri. he might not get to come home. :( Has not been home in over a year. Sadly he seems ok with his leave not being approved. He likes what he is doing but would rather be seeing more of the world.likes the fact that he can spend someone elses money. Ha, I tell him he is spending my tax dollars go easy. :) Welcome Always ready and ok.

Hi okmom!! There are a lot of different jobs in this field, but they all have something to do with supply. Chris is stationed on an air base and he is in charge of getting necessary airplane parts etc that the mechanics request. Most of the time he's very busy and likes it enough, but he also goes above and beyond and his chiefs are very aware of that and like him a lot.
Tell your son to try and be positive, he just might like it :) A;so I'm not 100% sure but I think they can change "jobs" after a year of doing one. And good luck to him as it takes a while to become an Admiral LOL

Beckym, Yes Chris's GF is in the Navy too. Last I spoke to him, she was thinking of getting out when the baby is due. I guess she would still be entitled to the GI bill even tho she only completes 3 years.

And the twins?? Cute as can be, their mom is Army. She's a recruiter and has to work 12 hr days. Her mom is giong to sit 2 days and my sister is sitting 2 days........good luck to all of them LOL
