Brenda, my profile pic is Chris coming home and meeting his daughter for the first time, and go ahead and cry cause I did (as I am a crier too) LOL. Do you know when your son is leaving or approx?
Comment by Lisa-Chris's Mom on February 25, 2010 at 2:53pm
Chris had neither, he was studying for his GED and his recruiter said he could wait. And yes he has been deployed last year ye went to Djbouti Africa (I'm sure I didn't spell it right LOL), and he was gone from mid May til Dec 8th. He was picked to go early and help set up. The hardest part was the text he sent right before he boarded the plane, I cried my eyes out. But after that, I sent him lots of packages and letters which helped a lot but he also had access to email.

I thought you had to have diploma or GED to join the Navy.

Prayers to the sailors family how horrible. When mine asked bout the bonus he was told after one year he would get it.
Comment by Lisa-Chris's Mom on February 22, 2010 at 8:42pm
Sorry....if he lied, it was to Chris :)
Comment by Lisa-Chris's Mom on February 22, 2010 at 8:41pm
Brenda, if he lied it ws so Chris, he did it all by himself. When he told me he signed I was so grateful that he was going to do something with his life, and I had no idea I could go talk to his recruiter. If he was lied to, it was for no reason as Chris was signing anyway, it takes an awful to tick Chris off and that didn't. Better than being hot headed LOL.

And prayers are with the young man and his family

They were told they were going to, Chris's recruiter even disuaded him from getting his GED, said he can get after BC. Well after BC surprise, surprise, no bonus because he didn't have his GED. He dropped it as not to cause any friction. He's better about things like that than me, recently he wrecked his car and only said "Bad karma today, good karma tomorrow". Me on the other hand, felt so bad for him I could hardly eat for a week!!! Just being a mom I guess.

Mine never got his orginal bonus either... I keep telling him to ask about it.

Chris knows there is no signing bonus, although he never got his original signing bonus either
