It's his baby, when he came back from deployment, I went to pick him up.....he gave me a huge hug and told me he missed me, and hugged his car, it really was pretty cute. At least he hugged me first LOL

Becky, Chris went thru that with the license expiring etc. He said they give you leway and you (military) can drive on an expired license for a certain period as long as they have their military ID.

LOL he aslo recently told me he was saving money for his car, I asked was there a prob with it and he said no, "more horse power". All I said was "great" and thought I really didn't need to know that, and I drove his car once a week while he deployed it's crazy and doesn't need any more horse power!!! LOL, things like that age me....

And to Brenda I think you're in the right group LOL, I'm still learning what all these initials are. And welcome!!! Chris is on an air base.

I was just wondering becuz Jason will turn 21 and won't be home to change over his license ( we have the same as you) vertical-horizontial. He won't be home by the time it expires either. Just wondering what they do in that case. I'm sure he can't wait to get that horizontal one. LOL I pretty much had to talk him into getting his license in the first place...He is the youngest of all his friends, he didn't need it they drove him around. His sister on the other hand... well she was at the DMV at 8:00 a.m waiting on her 16 Birthday. Lisa its so funny you say it was cool to walk... when we visited Jason we had to walk when we visited Santa Monica and my daughter was complaining. Jason said what are you complaining for? I walk everywhre on the base and wherever I go your spoiled! Gotta LOVE the Navy. He now has his car wonder what h would say now?

When my oldest starting driving (god help me haha) there was a rule, 16 no teenagers as passengers, no driving after 10. NOT and we were from a small town, the rules work somewhat but kids know wha they can get away with. She was 25 on Mon by the way and my biggest escape was I was dating a town cop and she and all her friends knew it and knew I knew all the other officers on the force so there wasn't much they could get away with. Things weren't the same later for her sister as they didn't care, and when Chris was a teen, he was a hippie (smoked and all ugh) and it was cool to w..a..l..k.. everywhere. God I'm glad he got over that quick and joined the Navy. Navy saved my life.

Sorry for rambeling on and on, what's going on with a teen in yhour life????

does anyone's state have a special drivers license for kids who aren't 21?

Lynda your son sounds like he enjoys whatever he is doing. I wish mine has half the drive of your son. LOL. Donna did Bryan have a choice to be in HAZ MAT or was he just assigned that?
Comment by becky m on February 11, 2010 at 8:41pm
Julie I commend him for doing that and you for being able to see that if thats what he wants to do,you can't change that. Being a SEAL is really hard. Lynda I give your son credit for even trying. It sounds like he has the best of both worlds now. Working with the SEALs sounds really cool and exciting. I think mine would like that.My daughter's close friend went to be a SEAL, he didn't make it either. Mine wanted to be a MAA orginally but, is color blind so that shot him right out of the water. LOL Literally put him on the ground at the Naval base. Hes ok with being at the Naval base. He gets so mad at me when we are talking and the F18"s fly over and I say I love that sound. I get "mom I am so use to it don't even notice it anymore". Lisa I just wondered if all LS's had that card. Donna I'm sure Bryan is fine. Maybe they have him cleaning out the freezer again and he's so busy doing that he he can't contact you. I know we are not suppose to talk about where they are at, but I hope that Bryan gave you and idea of where they where heading this time.
