Alison(Ship13Div83) Morning... I'm going to friend you - also will give you my personal email address if I can help in any way.. He wanted Norfolk - so he got his 1st choice... but he didn't choose a carrier.. Being an LS they will place where the Navy has a spot to fill. :-)
It's been awhile but wanted to stop in here. My son graduated A school in Dec, was home until 1/2 and now on the USS Truman (preparing for deployment). He's a bit overwhelmed at the moment..it has all seemed to go so fast for both Sailor and those who love him. Trying to get my emotions in check and accept that we may not be able to communicate with him often... Please keep us (especially him) in your prayers. Thanks!
Hello, my son just pir 1-4-12 and left for Mississippi at 6:30am Saturday. He called me and said he doesnt start school until the 15th so what he will be doing from now until school starts? Any information would be great.
My son Jeff just completed his first deployment. He is now back in San Diego, he won't make it home for Christmas but he will get leave the first week of January. I'm so proud of him, he ranked up and is now an E4, 3rd class. He earned his ESWS pin and is now a Shellback! As you can see I'm very proud of him.
Lynda - Congrats to you on Aaron's advancement to LS1!
Hi durrich, it was my understanding that LS A school was self paced. My son had pir'd 10/7/11, He graduated from A school 11/22/11. He had hoped to make it home by Thanksgiving but didn't make it until the Saturday after. He was home for 10 days leave & then had to report to his first duty station. So he spent Thanksgiving in A school & Christmas on his ship. Depending on how he A school goes your son might be having Thanksgiving there but maybe it will workout for him to make it home for Christmas. You will learn to celebrate whenever you can with them. The get to fill out there dream sheet with there top three places to be stationed but the Navy will sent them where they need them. He will get his orders for his 1st duty station close to the end of A school, Enjoy this wild ride. We are all on it together!
Welcome durrich and I'm sorry I haven't been on lately, my computer is either a mess or this N4M site is sooo slow my lame computer cannot keep up LOL, either way welcome to all our new MOM'S.
I have my son Chris who has been in 5 years now and is at his 3rd base now stationed in Norfolk, his wife Jennifer (also LS) who is deployed on the "Ike" cruising somewhere in the Arabien Sea and is just over the hump to coming home in March :) Also my SIL stationed in Groten, and my nephew is somewhere in AK doing something LOL
