I was wondering if anyone was in the Horry County area in SC. My daughter leaves for bootcamp 3/2 and it would be great if she knew someone else leaving...which I'm sure is slim to none!

Welcome Patti!  I'm from Horry County too~ my son just finished bootcamp. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with, a shoulder to cry on or any concerns you may have.  He just made it to Goose Creek last week.  We visited over the weekend.   You're in for a long emotional ride!

Sandy

Glad to hear he made it, congrats! She doesn't seem remotely worried, scared...nothing! She's more worried about if I'm gonna make a cake or not for her friends before she goes.

My only concern for her is that she won't ever want to come home :(

Oh, Patti - believe me, home will mean so much more to her after boot camp.  Hang in there and we are all here to support you.
hello ladies, my daughter arrived this past tuesday night at BC. Im glad that there is a few of Horry Co. ladies on here. I also want to know if you all want to get together to share and do olther thing that the Navy could use help with. Next week Im thinking about calling the recruiters office to see what the MOMS can do to help with other new moms or any thing else. If you are all interested please let me know. I just need to do something besides sit and worry about what is going on at BC. I have seen the youtube videos about BC; they are very educational. Im also getting a navy scentsy warmer to burn for the navy sailors to burn. Oh my name is Liddia and I live in the palmetto point area.

Hi Liddia, I'm here if you have any questions!  I was a train wreck during boot camp.  Closer to the end, the worser I got.  LOL!  But now all seems to be falling into place.  I live in Conway, work in Surfside and play in between.  My husband works for the City of Myrtle Beach.  I would love to meet anyone and everyone with a new Recruit or Sailor.  Funny you mention the warmers.  I got a Navy and Army warmer.  My Army friend just sent her son off Monday on a year long deployment to Afganistan.  So sad!  As a reminder, there is a local Blue Star Mom group.

Sandy

Sandyy , I also need to get an army one to sense i have 2 members of my family in the army right now and my dad served in the army during the vietnam war. We can meet anytime you like that both our schedules  will allow us too. Others also please join us.

The only thing I'm worried about is something may happen and she'll be sent home or PIR delayed. Everything is so up in the air until you KNOW they are graduating. How long would it be until it's semi official? I can't book a flight or anything...
I can understand that too about booking rooms or flights for PIR. I know for sure we will be driving up.

my daughters PIR s may 6th

my PIR plans have changed from driving go flying because hubby didnt want to drive and now he is not going because of all the pets we have at the house

I booked tickets on spirit because they are the cheapest and i still have to book my hotel room

I hope everyone is well and I still would like to get together for a meet and greet

have a good week

How is everyone today?? Is any of you going to the beach this weekend?  Im doing well and have a great weekend.
Still not sure if she will graduate on time. She's one of those types that likes to be prepared and ready for any change...she keeps telling us to hold off on buying airplane tickets.
