He arrived in Great Lakes at 1:30 a.m. on December 10th.  No box yet..tee hee.  I'm a cross over from the east side five years old.  The west side of Florida is very nice.  Thanks for responding Laura.  Can't seem to find a group for the west side of Florida and feel too new to start one yet. =))

Awww... I wrote every day, jokes, just happenings around here, lurked his facebook friends and copied their posts to each other. He loved getting mail. I only got 2 calls, but the poor mailman got stalked! My letters arrived on Thursdays from him...took a couple weeks to get the first one.

I don't know about the penny.  Yep getting the box is a tear jerker.  It gets better.

Once you get your letter, make sure write regularly, but don't say how much you miss them, Stephen said it would upset the sailors.  God bless

Jean, sending hugs! I remember that day well! When I got Elizabeth's box, I left it in my room right beside my bed. Just a little way of keeping her close by, I guess. Just holler if you need anything. I may be in Miami but will gladly be there for you!

I got the box.  I got the box.  This made so happy.  Because I did not received the phone call.  I even laugh because his dirty underwear  was there.  Now I just set back and wait for the letter.  But can someone tell me what the penny is for.  I had a shinny new penny with his initial on it. Just seeing the box with his hand writing gave me hope and strength to carry on.

Boy oh boy my son did make it to Great Lakes but I did not get a phone call. I know I have to set back and wait for the letter and box.  But I am not a wait person. So I am in training to learn to wait as the Navy says no news is good news.  I just started a journal of each day to send to my son when he can start to get mail.  Thank goodness he loves to read because it will be a novel.  Hope you all are doing good.  Laura let get me know when you want to meet.

Yes Laura that would be nice to hook up any time.  My son left yesterday to Miami to got to MEPS today to more paper work and officially get sworn in and get his ticket to Great Lakes.  This will be the longest day for me waiting for the phone call not knowing where he is. It is very painful to let the little bird leave the nest, cut the apron strings etc.  But we have such a strong bond between the two of us, that I know I will survive him not being here and he will survive bootcamp.  Thank you all for all you have done.
