wow! its been so quiet lately on all the groups that I haven't checked in  for a few days - and  now I see I missed some important stuff!!!  Glad it all worked out Dolphin!   Great news!!

Love the photo Chris!

I enjoyed having Aaron home for Thanksgiving, only here for 2 days, but such a good visit - roads held up for him - he got to drive home with another college buddy which helped the 10 hr drive go by.   He gets to be home for about 10 days at Christmas..... I'm going to get spoiled over the next 3 yrs :)

Thanksgiving in Charleston.  Left to right: Mary, Carissa, Matt, Lee, Anita.  USS Yorktown in the background.  Lee was excited--this was the first Thanksgiving in a while he didn't have to travel.

Sorry to hear you are having such trouble Dolphin.  I would call the CO's office of every NROTC school your son is considering.  Prayers offered...

What is the date that they need to be accepted? My son is hoping for North Carolina, Wisconsin, or South Carolina.  I don't think he has heard anything definite either.....yet. Ugh!

Just to let you know they only have 4 years to use their GI bill once they start using the money. So If there are some expenses not covered I would suggest getting a government loan to cover it (they must fill out the FASFA  once they get their taxes done). Because the GI bill can be give to a Spouse or a child. No use in wasting it. Brady has only had to pay 2k out of pocket for 1.5 years of classes which is nothing in the long run. just a few hundred dollars every semester.

Much depends on the "military friendliness" of the school.  I would contact the NROTC ASAP.  My son was not accepted at his first choice (UVA), though he had qualifying test scores.  He got little to no help from the faculty or staff there, in spite of spending three days there.

The Citadel was much more helpful and his STA-21 money covers all expenses.  The academics are very good.  My son likes living Charleston, and he likes  the school.
