For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Badge
A & C School in San Diego!
I found a discussion on here but from 2009 and not sure how current or active those members are. My fiance is heading out there in about a month to start A school. We are getting married in December so I will be there also in about 2 months. We are considering the off base military housing and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this housing? I know he will be based at Point Loma during school, so I wasn't sure if there was a complex or a few complexes someone could recommend that may be closer to that part of base than others? I have never been to San Diego or the Naval Base Complex there but I do know it is very large. I am not sure how it is spread out or if it's all pretty much together, so I don't know if any of the complexes would work or if they have certain ones depending on which part of base you are at.

Hi Bchgrl, best of luck to your daughter! It doesn't seem like it now but these 8 weeks will really fly by and soon you will be there at her graduation. I hope she loves San Diego as much as we did. My husband and I were there for about 3 years and are now in VA. We would love to go back some day.

KD's Mom me too. My son has been in SD since the end of April and I have checked on here a few times. He has 2 more weeks of A school. He said it will probably take a while to class up for C school. I am hopeful he will be able to come home for a visit. He loves SD but had a little bit of adjusting to life on base. Tell me about your sailor. :)

So good to talk to someone who has a son walking the same path! My sailor is still only an SR. He left for GL 6/13. His expected PIR date is 8/10...then I believe he’ll do 6 more weeks in GL and then head to SD. We’re just beginning this journey and I miss him so much it hurts!
