Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Soooo many questions...
My daughter leaves for boot camp in July, her rate is STG. I'm way ahead of the game here, but I'm trying to reconcile what I read, what's on the papers, and what the recruiter says into one thing. It all seems to bounce off each other. Her papers say her A school will be in San Diego for 12 weeks. On usmilitary.com, it says 8 1/2 weeks. Her recruiter says her first orders will be on a ship then shore somewhere. usmilitary.com says first sea tour is 54 months.
I'm confused! LOL....any tips from those in this same rate?

I would go by what her papers say. There are different systems so her papers could be for her specific system whereas the website could be more broad. But, the papers don't include hold times (time she will be waiting for class to start) anyway so let me tell you know, she'll probably be there longer anyway.
The information you got from usmilitary.com regarding her first sea tour is probably meaning how long she will be on sea duty before she will get shore duty-NOT that she will be deployed at sea for 54 months! That would mean she will be assigned to a ship for her first enlistment, which could deploy and be out to sea at any time. When it's not at sea she will be on land at her base. When she is done with that, if she chooses to re-enlist she will MOST LIKELY (but never definitely) get shore duty, which is a term of duty where she will NOT be attached to a ship so unless she will not ever deploy during the term of that contract.

HI..... Being ahead of the game is great and CONGRATS to your daughter and the family!!!! My son is an STG and his A school was only 8 or 9 weeks long then had OPS school which ended up being close to 12 weeks... He is only a 4 yr enlistee. I know if your a 6 year enlistee you do go to C school (dont kno how long that is..) My son is stationed aboard the USS John Paul Jones.. which is in the yards till sometime this summer... then out to sea for a couple months for training ... from what he tells me Deployment won't happen until AFTER he RE-ENLISTIST end of 2015.... He had a LOT of waiting inbetween schools Took almost a whole year to get to his ship.. so, 54 months won't happen.... YAY July will be here before you know it ENJOY your time at home ...

My Grandson started BC in Oct. 2012 with PIR Dec. 2012 and then to A School Great Lakes...where he was been on hold since beginning of the Year...just started Classes this week (STG) ..and they told him approx. 7 weeks ...transferring on to SD for A school...but he did sign up for 6 years...you can friend me and I will let you know how this journey progresses...

It's not that there is no standard, it's that there are just so many variables! Depending on if she is a 4 year or 6 year, on what system they decide to have her learn, on how long it takes her classes to fill up....
The best thing to do is just learn as you go, as you said. Everyone has a different experience! -

My Grandson is now at Point Loma....how long do they wait for school to start (also he is 6 yr enlisted)...
