Hello Jessica,

Welcome. You will be surprised at how fast things get going.  You learn so much on this web site as a lot of our sailors don't communicate well. Or they talk navy lingo and we still don't understand.  As I see it your sailor will be constantly learning.  My son reported to his boat Jan 3 as a Sonar Tech.  He has not gone underway as far as I know.  He is busy working on his dolphins and is hoping to go for a "swim" soon.  His boat is in Kings Bay, GA.  He is on the USS Florida. Join the Subs moms and there is so much info to the right of the comments.  Hope to see you here more often.

Hello Ladies :0) My name is Jessica, and my SR is in BC right now, but has accepted the rate Sub Sonar Technician. I hope it's ok that I went ahead and joined for some insight into our future. I enjoy chatting with other moms/wives and I ask a lot of questions (sorry) lol. Hope to connect with others who have loved ones in this rate. Best wishes to everyone on their journeys with the Navy, and good luck!

Lani - yes he does like especially since he is in the hands-on training part.  He got to Groton on May 6, 2011 and is just finishing up his schooling.  First BESS, then ATT & TECHNO then finally A school.  I heard the Navy was going to do away with ATT & TECHNO but not sure when
