I don't know specifics, but there are a bunch of "C" schools for STs - my son may be going to one for fiber optics. All your son needs to do is talk to the senior STs on his boat.
Does any one know if there is any advance classes for Sonar Techs?
my son has been taking some review classes for Sonar Techs but he seems to know nothing about how to advance in the Sonar field
?
thanks for your help
No worries, Diana! The class that started Sonar Techh school last week graduated May 18, according to our sailor. New London should be beautiful that time of year!
No, sorry, my son is waiting to start ATT school.
anyone here have a sailor starting Sonar Tech class in Groton today? We want to plan our trip up to see him when he graduates A School....;)
great picture! thanks for the info!
My son is headed off to boot in Jan and then will be going to Groton after. Is there and actual graduation ceremony for graduating from A school?
wow nana donna
maybe have him check some offices not sure which offices but if things do not work out have him check the chaplins office they maybe able to help but i am not sure
we got to know a very nice officer name Tom Trapp and he has a bible study on Thursdays evenings for the single sailors at the Sub school he might be able to help
hope this helps.
Hello everyone I am new to this group. I have a grandson in Groton schooling to be a ST.
Snuffsmom - My grandson graduated Basic May 6th and is going to be a Sonar Tech. Saturday morning after PIR he was taken to the airport at 2 AM to fly to Groton CT for his submarine ST training. I am surprised that they told him he would be going to San Diego for his A school as I understand it all submarine training is done in Groton CT.
Beware you will find that things with the Navy will change often. One day you think you are going here and then you find out you are not.
Just an FYI for sub training (something I didn't know while my GS was in basic) when they first get to Groton they have BESS school, then ATT school, then TECHNO school and then finally after all that A school. My grandson has been there since May and has not started A school yet.
