I think I finally found the right group. My son is currently at Great Lakes, has 2 weeks left, then going to CT for A-school. Anyone else have an SR in Great Lakes yet?

My son is in Great Lakes, in his third week of basic training. His graduation is set for September 9th.His job will be Sonar Radar Tech and he will be going to San Diego for his A school. What I would like to find out about is the week-end of his graduation. I keep hearing two different things. He will most likely have to Grab and Go on Saturday. Then I hearing, he should get the entire week-end to spend with family and then go to A school the following week.Which is what I would like to count on. Need to make plane reservations soon but not sure when I should book my return. Can someone that has experienced this please advise?

Hey everyone!!! My husband is an STS on the USS Rhode Island here in GA :) we've been attatched to the boat a little over a year now. :) . I've been in the 'sonar shack' before my husband left on this patrol for Family day on the boat...its small but pretty cool the rest of the boat was pretty neat too :) He likes being a sts and i like it too bc ive noticed that sts especially are very tight knit. :) i know pretty much every sts on his boat haha they are always at our house :)
