OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

So glad to find a group for sub wives. It will be nice to have you ladies for questions along the way :) My husband is in A-school to be a sonar tech. I just moved up here to Groton, CT (technically New London) a few weeks ago to be with him. So I'm super happy about that! Any of you ladies located up here? I would love to have some company :) And someone to explore the area with. This is a really neat little town! Far different from my hometown of Dallas, TX, that's for sure! Anyway, glad to find y'all and look forward to speaking with you :)

It ended up being about 2 months before we could make it happen, but we had a hard time getting information and did not know that his new orders just show up on the same order sheet. We were waiting on a new item to show up on his mypay or whatever the website is. Point being, your husband should have his updated orders pretty quickly, once he gets those he can print them out and head to the Personal Property Office and get things started for moving your personal belongings. We went with a dity move and used ABF's version of PODS. It was the best price I could find and ended up being about the same price as renting a Uhaul, without the hassle of driving one across the world. Then the government will pay you 95% of what it would have cost them to move you, so we're hoping to profit a bit. Then the Housing Office can help you guys with finding a place, whether you choose base housing or off base. If you are looking for an apartment off base, I did a lot of hunting and ended up at Eagle Pointe http://www.simonkonover.com/residential.php?id=30&mid=79. They have been great so far and were surprisingly nice for the price. Though when we signed up they only had 2 bedrooms available, but it's heat and hot water included. They are also a part of the RPP program which is a special set up for military. With that they give you the first month free which is a giant help, especially if you opt for a dity move. If you do end up going with them let me know and I will give you my info as a referral, it would help me out a lot (not that I wouldn't have suggested them if there was no referral by the way, it's just..well it's still there lol) What is your husband's name? Maybe mine has met him :) Anyway, I'm happy to help in any way I can, getting here was a bit of a pain for me, so anything I can do to make it easier on someone else I'm more than happy to :)
