I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

Mountain Ocean - I have had several friends in the past month or so get stationed in WA from sub school and were able to get directly into base housing, so I wouldn't think you will have any problems getting in.

Great to hear!  We have two little guys so, perhaps they will have a three bedroom... fingers crossed.  I am glad the on-base houses are nice, we will look for grayback  : )  .

Thank you so very much 'navywifr85'!

I suspected that it was questionable, thank you for confirming.  I guess the wait for on-base housing is 6 mo to a year so, we will have to re-group.  Our family has been apart for so long... just want to live with my husband again and the little ones miss dada.....not sure if it is worth living in jackson park while we wait though.  perhaps we will check out civilian rentals.

we were living in bangor like 4 months ago. jackson park housing yea that woud be a negative lol so many bad things happen in that area and housing on base is a lot nicer if you pick the newer housing area.. there are 2 housing areas on bangor base i cannot remember which area i lived in but i lived on anchorage and i loved the area plus my house was niiiiccceee.

Has anyone been stationed in the Bangor/Bremerton area?  I am wondering if Jackson Park housing is an ok place to live.  Is it safe?  Clean?  Is the on-base housing better?  Should I just rent a home in town from a private party?  Thanks so much!!!!
