I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

Hi SubWife, Yes, my husband is in sub school right now.  He just started his A-School portion yesterday.  We found out today that we will be stationed in Washington.

you can get on lower base but you need a badge an id wont get you down on lower base.. you will need a background check for that. but you cannot get down to the boats though.. true depending on the rate emails are not reliable done many underways with no word not even a letter when they had mail drops..

boomers do have email and mail drops (sometimes)

1. Ususaly on boomers you don't get emails. If you do yay! if you don't it is not uncommon so don't worry about it to much. since he is brand new he will be SUPER busy trying to get quals done.

2. You wont be able to get on base unless you have someone to drive you on who does have an ID. Boomers don't usually do the whole homecoming thing. I don't think dependents are even allowed on lower base where the subs are in KB.

My husband left home today to get back to sub school.  We had five great days together and our first New Year since we got married!
