I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

My husband also just got his orders (while I'm here visiting) for King's Bay, GA. And we are soooooo so excited because we're from Florida, so we won't be too far from family :)

We moved from Ga about 3 months ago. There is not a really any bad ares in the KingsBay/ Kingsland area. The only place I would not suggest is the trailer parks. I have heard they have stuff happening all the time. If you dont mind a bit of a drive Yulee, Fl is really nice. It is about 20ish minutes mostly interstate. A word on utilities. During the summer they are probably going to kill you...lol Rent+utilities in non summer months we were pocketing 100-150 bucks a month. Summer months our electric bill tripled with the thermostat set to 76. So we were paying oop for the overage :( Our electric bill in Guam is actually less than the summer bills in Ga, go figure. Ohhh and don't use Kingsland Cable they are GARBAGE!

There is no college on base in Kings Bay. The closest one in in Kingsland about 10 mins away, it is a satellite campus of the College of Coastal Georgia http://www.ccga.edu/.

Housing in Ga is pretty standard unless you are E-6 or above then it is AWESOME...lol They have really nice houses for the higher ranks. The outsides are really ugly of the jr enlisted hosing but most are remodeled inside. We choose to live out in town while we are there. You can definitely find something under BAH out in town. We lived in the Soncels The Lakes Villas which are really close to the college. 3 bed 2 bath fenced in duplex with a garage for 790 a month plus utilities. If you call Soncels ask for one of the newer villas the older ones are kinda icky.
