I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

My calls came very sparse. Normally now it's 2 calls the entire time they are there but if the division does well they can gain more calls.

Yep, in the morning around 9 am. But this was years ago. I am not sure if everybody gets to call or not. He told me he would "sneak" out of church to use the"bathroom" and call me...lol

I always got my letters on Wednesday too. I got phone calls on Sunday, when he was supposed to be in Church.

Emily - Yeah that's about right, it took a couple weeks to get any letters from my husband. That's why the little note was such a relief. Their letters go out on Sunday so not really till Mondays mail. I always received mine on Wed and then for some reason it switched to Thursdays.

OH MY GOSH, it was such a relief! haha we all together ( His mom, sister and I) sent off 18 letters yesterday.Been writing him everyday since he left, a couple of them were greeting cards haha. Sending another one tommorow. Just waiting for his. Do you know how long it takes for me to recieve his? His mom and I have been reading on things and it says he doesn't get to start writing until the second sunday he's there which means we won't get our letters until next tuesday? Is that right?
