I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

the newer base housing is nice the one's they just built not the newly refurbished homes..the one's they just refurbished i cannot tell the difference between the old look and the new look they just redid the inside.. but the ones they built are really nice and are free standing homes.

We have the largest one. I really like it. It is a pretty good size for our family of 4. The Backyard is awesome. We can just open up the patio doors and they come in and out to play. We live in one of the newer versions. I have not seen the interior of the older ones. If you want to add me on facebook, I have pictures on there in the fall 2009 folder and the kids room folders. My name is Amber Hubbard Murray.

I showed my husband and he liked them. What size did you get? I seen that they have 3 different ones. We have a large dog (akita) so a fenced in year would be awesome.

the utilities are were not to bad, this is the first month I was like ugh! Our electric bill was 264. It is normally between 80 and 140. We ultimately picked here because we needed a garage and a fenced in backyard. This will be the first month we are not pocketing any of the BAH :(

Thanks, the villas do look nice. I have liked everything being included in our rent with living on base though lol I guess the lazyness in me likes not worrying about utilities lol are they bad in the villas?

IDK what happened to Regency. During Christmas all the stores were open and business was booming. After Christmas everything started shutting down. Someone told me they were moving everything over to the Avenues.

The pictures online for Kings bay are not updated. The outside are still horrendous but the insides are remodeled and are very nice. Since you guys dont have kids yet look into the lake. You could rent one of the regular villas and still have room for a baby when you get pregnant, you would also be able to pocket some of the BAH. http://www.soncel.com/villasmenu.htm

Guam has fast attacks but they also have a sub tender. We are going to the tender after being on a sub for 5 years. We were on a fast attack and our schedule was not bad. The boat spent a lot of time in the yards getting fixed. 3 years of our 5 year tour were spent torn apart getting worked on. We only had 1 deployment the whole time. We had lots of little underways but nothing to bad.

Oh and it seems like a lot of married guys are going to Guam. That's some where we were interested in but isn't that the boats with longer deployments?

That site has become my life line in looking at housing. When I looked on there though KB looked horrid, is it better now? We like to have places to go get out and shop. Doesn't have to be much to make us happy though lol we live on NAVY pay lol
