I just found this and thought it was cute...

My sailor.Submariner

I love My Sailor so deeply and true

He is my Husband, my Friend and a Daddy too

He chose his fate when signed that line

To become a Submariner and serve his time

As the Submarine is prepped and the workday ends

He comes home to tell me, "It is that time again"

The night before "The Boat" gets underway

We prepare ourselves for that dreaded day

He Packs his sea bag so snug and tight

For it will be time to leave at dawn's early light

With his sea bag across his shoulder

and the tears in his eyes we know it is time for all the goodbyes

My Sailor and his crew are running silent and deep

Protecting our freedom while awake or asleep

For the beautiful flag flies freely in the wind

My sailor will proudly salute it until the very end

Jen- Ugh, I head Guam is the worst. We're in Hawaii right now but that's where we're going next. Thankfully we won't be there too long before he goes on shore duty.

LuvASub- Yes bangor housing is on base we are up here on the Bangor base right now. The schools are really good there are 2 schools that serves the base Clear Creek and Cougar Valley.. Cougar Valley is the one we wanted our sont o go to but didn't know they only serve one part of housing. There are to parts east housing and west housing. We live in the nicer housing which is i think east housing.. and there is also Jackson park housing which is off base and yea i have heard so much crime goes on in that housing. The housing office has a list of which schools serves which housing area. i Think i might still have that list just gotta look for it.

No we don't have children yet. Are you planing to visit the area to look for housing and at the areas. I think that if we didn't take base housing that is something I would definitely want to do. It's so hard blind moving. ughhhh

I am in Groton right now. I told my husband I wouldn't mind staying here just because moving in 5 months again would suck lol. Really we want WA though. I believe it's off base. You should be eligible for the housing since it's all that's provided for that area. The wait list didn't look to be long at all for it either. Not sure if you've looked at onestop but here's that one for Kitsap https://www.housing.navy.mil/onestop/menus/Default.aspx

LuvASub- the only thing that I know about that are is the same as what you have said. I've been looking a lot because it's where we hope to be and the best housing I have found is base housing. There's militarybyowner.com the houses to rent are great but can be a little pricey.

Hi Abby - weclome to the group. I am in Groton now and hoping that we get Bangor at the end of the year. I have been looking at all the different sub bases and Bangor looked to have the best housing with the subs that my husband wants to work on. I think his choices are Bangor or King's Bay.

Janie-ProudSailorWife- ya, Benadryl works great. The animals will be in like a wonderful calm state. I spoke with him today abt that, and he is going to talk to them on Tuesday. Hows the job hunting going? Did you find one? I'm hoping to be out there at the end of august. He will be done with BESS the first week in July, So it will be nice to finally get the really process of moving on the way. Hope all is well.
