Please, please remember before you post: our sons are part of a Special Operations community, even while in training, and it is vitally important to form the habit of not divulging any information that could possibly compromise the safety of any of their members. This would especially apply to names, dates, places, procedures, etc. You might like to read the "Discussion Forum" titled "OPSEC" for some guidance. If you are still in doubt, please ask one of our members for their opinion by private message before you post. We are here to help each other, but we must be careful at all times.

Zephyr mom - I wanted to send you a friend request, but can't seem to find your comment anymore.  I may need "NavyForMoms 101" but could you post again?

I have to say thank you to all of you on this site. I have gained so much knowledge from just reading your posts. Back in November, we were able to make it to PIR because someone posted a way to get in to graduation avoiding all the traffic. We left very early and still found the traffic to be at a complete stand still. I don't remember who it was but I was so thankful to have read that post. I have not posted much because my son was nervous for me to even be on here. So I will not post anything on the board about him or his training. But if any of you need support or prayer I would be so happy to be there for you. @ zephyr mom... you are so very welcome! So thrilled for your son!

Zephyr mom,  Congratulations on your son finishing the Tour & Thank you for the prayers!   I remember that emotional exhausting feeling well & still feel it every now & then!   They are strong men to endure & get through this type of training absolutely!

Good morning everyone
I haven't been on much our "w" was away training .
But new moms it is a very different world being SWCC . Our youngest is a corpsman in Italy and its almost , at times like he is away at Summer Camp. Then other times swamped .
Go with the flow . Your guys will talk to you when they need to . It's a lot for them to take in to ,and this is their job . This time we are the bystanders as parents .

Dee I'm going to tap you , I'm recovering and Kelly 59 too . Email you guys later .
Have a great weekend everyone and thank you for your sons service .

Good Morning SWCC Family & Welcome mjm & Tikkie!   I just have to say that when our son was going through SWCC training from start to finish the support on this site was wonderful!  Travis66 & Denise (Dee) you two were a big help ~ as well as D'sMum, BJA57 & Tee-1 Sailor's Mom almost 3 years ago when I began this journey with my son!  It is true that alot has changed since our sons went through but still the support that you share here today for the new Moms is  great!   I will always feel the gratitude for the support you all gave me!  :)

MJM -- I'm happy to have found you. You will be a great resource for me because your son is a few months ahead of mine. I'm not worried about the Chicago cold, as we're from the Midwest. However, the idea of jellyfish stings and huge attrition rates freaks me out a bit. :) (Maybe I shouldn't have read the old posts!)

Tikkie - that was more in line with some things I had heard, but like I said, hopefully I can get more word from the boy himself soon!  If it helps, my son also worked with a Petty Officer in our area before leaving for BC, but it was more on a once a week kind of schedule to work on his times on the various physical tests.  He wasn't so good at working out every day in addition to that, but most days.  He seemed to keep up fairly well in BC!
