Please, please remember before you post: our sons are part of a Special Operations community, even while in training, and it is vitally important to form the habit of not divulging any information that could possibly compromise the safety of any of their members. This would especially apply to names, dates, places, procedures, etc. You might like to read the "Discussion Forum" titled "OPSEC" for some guidance. If you are still in doubt, please ask one of our members for their opinion by private message before you post. We are here to help each other, but we must be careful at all times.

We are here to support each other and our sailors. We want to be safe and protect our sailors but not to run off new moms either..

You can never be secure enough when our children are at stake.

Hi erics mom, you're right that pre-buds is for SEALs. SWCC is also Special Operations so in BC they are all together. After PIR your son should class up for SWCC. Sometimes there is a lag time, it just depends on how many they have for a class. Have you joined the Boot Camp Moms or the New Moms group? Also, there is usually a group for your PIR date. Guess it depends on how involved you want to be. I pretty much joined any group that had anything in common with me when I first joined N4Ms!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and have some questions if someone can answer...My son is in BC now going down the SWCC road... What is the next step after BC? Someone told me he will have to do PreBuds, but I thought that was just for the Seals......He told me alot about his schools before he left, but I can't remember the order or what happens where... and I wasn't sure if we could even discuss that here.... I haven't had any phone calls yet, just 2 letters - short and sweet - not alot of info.....His PIR is 26 Feb so I was just wondering -- what next? .......... Any insight would be appreciated. :)

Thanks D'sMum, that is good that they can't go to TJ, nothing but trouble for them there!

I'm sorry, but I don't remember how soon they get leave. It can take a little time. And all of you will be happy to know, they are not allowed to go to TJ! That's Tijuana. Once your sons are there they will find out when they get to leave. I think my son got to come home pretty soon after BC.He may have even had some time off...They get a lot of time off...Holidays., etc.. But remember, we are only 90 miles or so away.....

I'm so happy that you get to talk to him D'sMum! From what I'm gathering those who are in, seem to really enjoy what they do. Do you know when they get overnight Liberty once they are in SD? I know it varies a lot, but one of the members here was asking.

Yep Tee, snake bites! I told him to stay away from those snakes! He said he planned on it! He's doing really well, and calls often. He sounds great!
Thanks!
