Please, please remember before you post: our sons are part of a Special Operations community, even while in training, and it is vitally important to form the habit of not divulging any information that could possibly compromise the safety of any of their members. This would especially apply to names, dates, places, procedures, etc. You might like to read the "Discussion Forum" titled "OPSEC" for some guidance. If you are still in doubt, please ask one of our members for their opinion by private message before you post. We are here to help each other, but we must be careful at all times.

Hi SWCC moms, I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Some of us are beginning a new phase of the adventure with our son. Buckle you seat belts ladies, we're about to leave the gate!

This is not a cake walk! They need to be at the top of their game to pass. If they don't make the grade, someone else will. It's hard physically, and to be away from home. But once they pass, it gets better.
Merry Christmas everyone, and God Bless you all! My son is deployed now, and this is his first Christmas away from us. He is doing well, but we sure miss him. But he is doing what he wants to do, and we couldn't be prouder!

Thank you for letting us know about your sons td and dn. I am concerned for the boys who go straight from BC to SWCC school. Mine went to pre-buds first so he knows what to do to keep in shape, and has had the time to do it. BC does not prepare them for what they need to do. (at least that's my opinion). Most of the time they're sick, and even the extra hour sp ops gets isn't enough. Maybe some day they will do a short pre-SWCC as well. I believe it would be very beneficial to the guys.

FYI on the "I'm a sailor" call, they wear the recruit cover (hat) until they complete Battlestations, then there's a ceremony where they get their "sailor" cover. Actually they go from being Recruit Appretice (RA) to being Seaman Appretice (SA).
