Please, please remember before you post: our sons are part of a Special Operations community, even while in training, and it is vitally important to form the habit of not divulging any information that could possibly compromise the safety of any of their members. This would especially apply to names, dates, places, procedures, etc. You might like to read the "Discussion Forum" titled "OPSEC" for some guidance. If you are still in doubt, please ask one of our members for their opinion by private message before you post. We are here to help each other, but we must be careful at all times.

Thank you so much for the additional info.  I knew a little about the language school as my "W" was recently tested to see where his strengths were in terms of languages but did not realize there was still more intense training yet to come.

And yes, God Bless all our W's and veterans~I support them!  Thank you!

Well girls, I will try my best to give you a few things that I know ... after graduation there is indeed language school. It is held right there in San Diego I believe.  They won't all be given the same language to learn, we thought it was somewhat based on where they would be headed on eventual deployment... but that turned out not to be the case. After language school, those that are SOCOM will head to that school, which is on the East Coast. My W. who was not going to SOCOM school, then started on more intense training... he went to many different places in different parts of the country. Lots and lots of training. PLEASE feel free to private message me.. and I can give you more details on all the training.

SWCC'em, you  are right, they all have worked so hard! It is truly great to see them all standing tall and proud, getting pinned. You will love the experience!

God Bless all our W's and all our veterans, past and present:)

My "W" is a few "paces" behind your son but I would be interested to hear from other Vet moms the next steps as well.

Comment by SWCC'Em on November 10, 2012 at 12:18pm

My "W" said that we should be getting an invitation for graduation relatively soon! I'm excited for him because I know he (and his team) have worked so hard to get and be where they're at and I can't wait to see him standing tall at graduation! :))))

For the 'vet' moms-- what happens after 'graduation?' I know there's language school of some sort (How long is that? Is the location of the school where the team is or do the guys stay in CA for language school?) and other 'stuff' but not sure what the remaining 'things' are.

On the 'down side,' unfortunately we won't see him for the holidays (Thanksgiving or Christmas) and I know it may be like this for many years to come (I accept but  don't like it). Staying positive for him is an absolute no brainer; I don't want him to be distracted or lose focus on what he's trying to do or become but I'd be liar if I didn't say that it's been a struggle for me to be positive 'in my own head.' This past year has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions and a journey of life lessons not only for him but for our family, that's for sure. Life lesson I'm relearning: "Be grateful and blessed for what you do have, not what you don't."

Keeping you and your "W's" in my prayers and wishing you all God's blessings!
