Please, please remember before you post: our sons are part of a Special Operations community, even while in training, and it is vitally important to form the habit of not divulging any information that could possibly compromise the safety of any of their members. This would especially apply to names, dates, places, procedures, etc. You might like to read the "Discussion Forum" titled "OPSEC" for some guidance. If you are still in doubt, please ask one of our members for their opinion by private message before you post. We are here to help each other, but we must be careful at all times.

An important note to all SWCC Moms - Navyformoms.com is being updated and upgraded, and part of this effort is making room for new members.  To do so, members who have not been active since 12/1/15 will be removed but will be able to re-join.  If you haven't posted since that date, please do so right away.  This is all part of an effort to make Navyformoms.com the best it can be for everyone, seasoned moms and new members alike.  Thanks and watch for good things to happen!

Is anyone familiar with the SWCC pinning ceremony that happens at the end of BUDS?

Hey there, Proud Mom.  The SWCC graduation is really nothing like Great Lakes.  It is personal, and intimate.  If you can imagine Great Lakes being a large university graduating, and SWCC being a select few graduation from Grad School, that might be close.  After the graduation, you will have lunch with your son and his instructors.  You will have a dinner the night before with them, as well.  The food, location, and company is rather impressive.  It is amazing.  Our son is just over two years in, and every time we see him, it is incredible how much he has grown.  The graduation in Coronado is one of our most memorable moments.  It all became real.  If you can, get out a bit before, and really talk advantage of all the activities they offer.

Is the graduation from SWCC training similar to that of boot camp or is it completely different?  Should I wear the ribbons we wore previously or no?  Any input would be appreciated!
