I saw a pic of the USS Independence Navy warship in todays paper. The shot was of it passing under the Sunshine Sky Bridge. I agree next time we need to get a group together and go.... Sorry I missed out seeing it this time.

Food for thought for a new kitchen is a good thing.  Hope you can do it.

The only Navy ship that will be able to visit the Port of St. Pete is this Littoral Combat style ship because she has a shallower draft.  (The littoral zone is that part of a sea, lake or river that is close to the shore.)  Senator Bill Nelson requested the visit and I happened to hear him talking on the radio about it last month but didn't get much detail.  I contacted his office, but got no reply.  I contacted the City of St. Petersburg and they were great about getting tickets to me.  If I ever hear of anything Navy related that we could attend, I'll be sure to let y'all know.

Sorry, but I have no further details about the ship or where it will be parked.  I emailed Senator Bill Nelson to ask, but have received no reply.  I will watch the St. Pete Times and let you know if I see anything.  If you see anything, please post it here to share with the rest of us.
