Hi,

I'm looking for new Navy moms from the Nashville/Middle TN area.  Son is a DEPPER and leaves for boot camp end of June 2013.  Would like to make some new friends close to me that are going through the same stages and emotions.

Hello, my daughter left for boot camp on 12/3 and we live in Nashville/ Cane Ridge area. It has been very hard especially with the holidays. We have gotten our first letter but I am still waiting for a call. What part of town are you in?

Hi  there!  We live in the Charlotte Park area about  a mile or so from Nashville West.  My son doesn't leave until end of June.  How are you coping with all this?  I know it has to be hard especially during the holidays.

It has been very hard. Thankfully before I thought I was going to lose my mind we got our first phone call a few days after Christmas. The hardest part is just not being able to talk or chat whenever we want. She had gone away to college for a year but it was nothing like this. I can't wait for her to get out of boot camp and into A-school so that we can talk....Talking with other parents in the same situation is very helpful. Those that do not have a loved one either going out or already out there don't understand how it makes one feel.....Love on him and enjoy him while he is still here. Please tell your son thank-you for his commitment in protecting our country.

Hey everyone!

My son left March 2012 and is now at first duty station.  So I am only a year ahead of you both and happy to chat and answer any questions if I can.

I am just south of Nashville in Rutherford Co.  Glad to help anyway that I can.

Kim

Thank you! My daughter will be in A-school for 2 years. It is very helpful to reach out to those who have already been going through this.

Hi Kim. Thanks for the offer. I will definitely be asking for help. I tried to reply to your msg about meeting for lunch one Saturday but for some reason it wouldnt let me from my phone. I would love to. Lets see what we can plan in a week or so.
Look forward to talking more with you.
Cindy

I sent you a friend request so we can exchange contact info and talk privately.  Have to be careful about OPSEC so I rarely post in public forums, but wanted to reach out to you.

We had a gathering/lunch in Nashville last fall and I really enjoyed talking with everyone.  We had moms with deployed sailors and moms with kids in A school (me at that time) and moms with kids yet to head to BC.  Was great to visit with everyone.  A couple of Navy personnel were also there and helped answer all of our questions.  Just having other moms who understand how you feel helps SO MUCH!!!!

looking forward to meeting with you!

Kim

Same here. That sounds good. I have accepted your request.

This is another site that I am a member of. Once he is in boot camp they will usually set up groups for each ship and division. There you can connect with other families of sailors in his division and that will be going through PIR together.

Ashley - I loved that FB page while my son was at BC.  Always loved seeing what was going on though he was never in the pics posted, it helps to see what types of things they are doing.

sending you a private msg with my email in case I didn't give you that before.  Let me know if you have any questions or just need to talk to someone who understands how you feel.

Kim

Hey Ashley and cos333333 - hope you are both doing well!  Wanted to drop a line to say hi and hope to hear from you both how things are going for your SR and your Depper.

Ashley - are you getting close to graduation date? or has it just passed?  let us hear from you!!!

Kim

Doing good. Just been really busy with work and all the stuff to do for TJ's senior year.  When I think about HS graduation, it reminds me how close behind it comes BC.  Then I get teary eyed. He is doing good, the first PT day as his recruit office about killed him, so he has to get busy training more. I got him a short termed membership at the Y so he could do more there.

I still want to find time to get together just been so busy.  Maybe in the next couple weeks or so.  And maybe Ashley can join us...

Ashley, keep us posted on PIR date, etc.....

Cindy
