Hi - Nicole, I'm from Nederland (near Beaumont) so we are almost neighbors! I have already been to Great Lakes - so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I will tell you that Southwest Airlines was great to work with - it flies into Midway - a much smaller airport that O'Hare for only about $200 round trip. They also extended my trip without any extra costs!!!
We live in Florida now for the past 4 years but Houston Texas is home to us that is where we are from and all four of our kids were born. I would love to be part of the Texas Moms since thats what we consider HOME> there is no place like TEXAS!!! we are trying to get transfered back.....
Hi Candy, what part of Texas are you from?
Hi I am from Houston but my dad was the publisher of news papers so beleive it or not I have lived in Nedereland it was only for a year in the early 80's. We also lived in Texas City, Port Arthur and Orange. My brother lives in Buna. do you know where that is? my neices go to Deweyville High school
Imagine that, we might had been neighbors. Yes, I know where Buna is! A friend came and ate lunch with me today and she used to live and teach in Buna. The teacher across the hall from me also lives in Buna. Small World - except when our babies are on the other side of it!!!! I taught in Port Arthur in the 90's. I also have friends in Deweyville!!
Buna is right by Kirbyville, which is right by Jasper. I worked in Jasper for a couple years. It was only a 45 mile drive from Hwy 69 at Zavalla.
Hey yall! My family is all Texas born and raised. My family and I live in Fort Worth and I grew up in the big town of Breckenridge. Always lookin for other Texas moms who have boys in the Navy so I can hit them up for info. My son is still in bootcamp but graduates March 28--I CANT WAIT to see him. Does anyone else's child have the job of AS?
Did you have any family in Breckenridge when the tornadoes hit this week? I was in a tornado with my son when he was 6 months old when we were at Possum Kingdom, over 18 years ago.
Howdy from Deer Park ,TX. My son has one week to go and I am very excited for him. I'm leaving on March 20 for gradution on March 21. He's in Div 123 on Ship 13...
How wonderful Tammy! It'll be a lovely Easter week-end. I am excited for you.
Hi - I love the Austin area. My best friend just moved to Round Rock, Cedar Park area. I have been up there a couple of times to visit her. Maybe next time I go, we could meet for lunch. Sounds like you are a seasoned Navy Mom. I can't wait to find out where my son will be stationed after "A" school. He will finish that about April 15. Did you go to any graduations after boot camp?
Sorry, I did not check the entire group feed for a few days. My son is in "A" School in Virginia Beach. His job is Master at Arms. I live in southeast Texas, near Beaumont. Nederland to be exact. I really wish that the Texas Moms could get together maybe this summer and just go out and eat and visit one night! What do ya'll think?
