OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi MeLinda, I'd like to partcipate. I live in San Antonio, but my daughter lives in Dallas. How much does it cost? I know with some of those events (not necessarily yours), they want you to pledge an amazing amount like $2,000 or so and if you can't raise it, they charge it to your credit card. I just want to know what I'm getting into and if it's affordable, I'd love to do it. Thanks. Joni
There is the registration fee, as a walker you commit to raising $2300. Yes they will have you commit your cc when you do the online check-in closer to the walk for any remaining balance if you want to walk. I don't remember the exact time frame for the charge after the walk, since there are still donations they may still need to be posted and coming in. I will find out for sure that bit of information and get back to you.
