DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Update to below: If you're able to commit to getting together for a Kuwait packing party please respond to this and let us know.......packages need to be mailed out between October 24 and October 30th!

******This is a notice to all the Navy for Moms and loved ones in the Austin area - please reply to this posting if you'd like to join us for a packing party! What's a packing party you ask? It's when we get together to pack boxes to send to our Sailors far from home. Molly's Adopt a Sailor is a group who coordinates this on a monthly basis.

Other states coordinate packing parties - let's show them what BIG hearts we have here in our State! Since Texas is SO big, this is to those who live in the Austin area and/or who are close enough to join us here. If you don't live close to this area, no worries - please please please form a group from your area and jump in!

So, start gathering items to send and let us know if you'll be able to make it - a date and place has yet to be scheduled but it will be towards the end of this month (September).

AWESOME!!!! I am not from the area - but I have good friends that are!! I LOVE MAS!! Can I come??
Oh, please do come and bring your friends! Have yet to figure out where - do you have any ideas??
Sorry, I am not familiar with the Austin area at all!! My friends, who I will stay with (if I get to go) live in the Round Rock or Cedar Park area.
I am just excited that someone in Texas is starting to do this!
Actually, I'm closest to Round Rock myself. I live outside of Pflugerville.
Hi Seashell! Right now it's you and me, girl! LOL! If it's just you and me, heck, we can meet right down the road as I live outside of Manor. Where is your child (son/daughter)? Are they out of Boot Camp?
It only takes TWO TO TANGO!!!!
Hi! So far, it's you and me, LOL! If the DAR group could help with supplies/shipping, then between you and me we could get some boxes packed. If we could combine that along with our own stuff, then we could be productive, I believe. What do you think? I wish we could get more Moms from our area to commit. I'll post again and see what happens? As far as a date, gosh, let me look at the projects going on......I've been busy with getting stuff out for soldiers in Afghanistan. When I get these things out, then I'm going to turn my attention to N4M's......but I should be through with that soon. Do you know of any upcoming deadlines?
Ok, I'll Update this discussion and let's see if we can get some additional Moms to commit. Hopefully so. :o)
I'm crocheting scarves!!! I'm also cutting & sewing some fleeces ones! I know they want to get some Xmas cards (signed) too. They want each Seabee to have at least 2 cards each, so that may be good to send too!
Hi there! Did you already have the packing party? I am so sorry I only found this just now. I live in the Austin area, and would love to help. Please let me know! Thanks!
