My house is quite, we just had my son's going away party and now he is saying goodbye to a few friends.  Cant beleive how fast and how slow the last 8 months have gone.  Dropping him off tomorrow at 3, then wait for the phone call on tuesday.  Sad day but he is excited and I think a little nervous. Hopefully the next 8 weeks will fly by.

@smouton: Hello and welcome to the madness of bootcamp. It truly has it's ups and downs the waiting and the no contact are the worst part. Make sure you send a phone card with him and stamps those are real important. Along with important #'s on a small piece of paper that will fit into his wallet. Call his recruiter and see if you can get his address ie Ship/Div # so you can start writting to him before you get the form letter some will give it to you and some won't probably wait a few days though so he can get assigned. We are all here for you and have either been there or are doing it now. My son is in A school now so its gotten better. Hope you can try to have a descent day I just noticed this was posted last night not today so some of that is wasted letters LOL oh well.

The Navy is very good about keeping the recruits and their families in touch and informed.  The 8 weeks will go pretty quickly, but it is painful to send them off.  Do try to make graduation.  It's wonderful, and our boy was thrilled we attended.  My husband and I drove to Waukegan, and made a little vacation out of it.  My Adam has been in a year, and it does get better, although the tears will still come.  One thing that gets me is cleaning out his room (we're downsizing), and remembering his various stages. I'm new to Navy Moms and Texas Moms, and love being a part of this group.  God bless and good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I posted on the octbootcamp page, we did drop him off, but later on that evening his recruiter called and said they had the ship date wrong.  So now he ships out the 27th.  My son did say we are not taking him this time, he will drive up there and we can pick up his truck later.  I think it was a little hard on him.. Oh well now we just have to wait another 2 weeks
Well at least you can make the most of the 2 weeks lol and maybe he will change his mind by then and want o say goodbye in person. I would be afraid to let him drive he may be in an emotional state thats not condusive to driving. But only you guys know anyway enjoy your time together. And tell him to be ready to run because boy do they run........... Have a good night. Talk to you soon.
