Yesterday we found and apartment easily. Its in a gated community in chula vista. Its not bad here. I can see the base from my bedroom window. I have one more day with my sailor before he reports Friday. We are still waiting for our packed things to get here from indiana. The arrival date isn't until the 17th!
But I love it here! I'm ready to meet people!

Now we are waiting for our things to get here. So how is everyone else doing??

Lemoore is somewhat in the middle of nowhere but from what I hear from other moms, many sailors love it because it's very friendly and they all are supportive of each other. I had invited the a sailor to have Thanksgiving up here with me and bring her friends but she said they always do their own thing at Thanksgiving - turkey, dressing, yams and all.
You can get to Southern Calif in a jiffy and 4-5 hours to San Francisco area. There is tons of stuff in CA - take the opportunity to explore the state.
After you join the above group, post a comment about housing.

Here are some other groups in CA. There was a meet and greet in Merced on Aug 28.

SF Bay Area Navy Families
Moms of the 209,
Central Valley CA Navy Moms
Northern California Navy Moms,

Central & Southern California Navy Moms
California Navy Moms,
The ones in Northern Cal are more active than the ones in So Cal. Don't know why. I am in the San Fran - San Jose area. Let me know if you need anything.
