Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Patty, when deployment time comes, there is a Navy for Moms page for the moms of the ones who are overseas. It was very helpful to me when my grandson headed to Iraq--also the Riverine site. There are several moms who have been through it already, some several deployments, who are very compassionate to the rest of us.

Patty, I just reread your post, so I can see your Riverine may get deployed sooner than mine. Must be they aren`t in the same detachment. I wonder if he was in Iraq last year?

Patty, my grandson is a Riverine, and got back from Iraq in Dec. How about your Riverine? It is such a relief when they are in the US, yet I know another deployment day will come.
We have driven slowly, and safely on snow covered roads, and had someone pass us who ends up in the ditch further up the road!
Have you other ladies got cabin feaver--bad? It is a wonderful time of year for those who enjoy winter sports. Once you get a little older, all you think of is falling down!

Yes, planning a wedding is "really something"! It will be a fun and memorable time once the day comes. People sure do drive too fast even on snow/sleet covered roads, especially if they have 4 wheel drive--they think they are invincible. We had a gorgeous, warm day on Friday, and then very cold and windy on Saturday--not quite the 50mph wind that you got. My grandson will deploy again probably in Nov/Dec, so I am not looking forward to it. It`s hard when they miss special times at home. They are special guys and gals to give so much to our country.

nice to see we woke up on here! Today however is a beautiful day My son is in bootcamp right now PIR March 18th which cant get here quick enough Then I will know it is spring!

I agree! I`m glad my grandson is home from Iraq or I`d be even more depressed. We are in the Adirondacks, so we`ve gotten many major snowstorms, and cold temperatures. We got down to -30` one night in January! I think you folks near Syracuse have gotten a lot more snow than we have--and we all know winter is not over! Half of our church is retirees, and are down south enjoying the sunshine. Maybe someday!

Happy New Year! I was also lucky enough to have my son home for the holidays. He came from his home base of Jacksonville on 12/29 and departed from Syracuse on 1/11 but was stranded in DC for the night, although he was able to catch the first flight out of DC on 1/12 into Jacksonville. Enjoy the New Year and God Bless all our Sailors!!
