Hi Judy, sorry you haven't heard from your cadet. I finally got a call Sunday morning from mine, she had tried last weekend but we lost connection. Hadn't heard her voice since Hawaii! Have had a few emails inbetween. She said it was going well, she had painted engineering while they were in port. She said they were on day shifts while in port and had made a lot of friends with the other cadets. And she was sending a package with things from Vietnam, Can't wait! Hope you hear from yours soon!

To the other Cadets Moms - have you heard from your cadet? Have they forwarded you any pictures of them and what they have been doing?

Thank you, for the picture link, and the news any new is great! I have not heard from my son in over a week, although he did leave a facebook message - "will be in Cambodia in a day, so I do know he is on the ship."

My daughter tells me that one of the "games" they are playing on board ship, is a take off of a reality show, the Mercy's "Biggest Safe Loser." She said her husband was doing pretty well until they got to Viet Nam. He says he ate very well and happily too. I will say it makes sending a care package a bit harder. Do you send sweets to someone who is trying to win the game and gain good health? And yet, getting Mom's cookies or a favorite candy is also pretty special.

They will be leaving Vietnam in a few hours, it is the last day there for the crew.
