My son graduated BM A school on Oct. 27, and he came home for a week. He arrived in Honolulu on Saturday, Nov. 4. We are so excited for him that his first command is in Hawaii. Hopefully we will get to visit during his 5 year stay on JPJ.

Aloha! Our sailor has been on the JPJ a little more than a year; we live on the Big Island. I was fortunate enough to take an informal tour of the ship and it was the highlight of my Honolulu trip!

My son joins the JPJ today! He flew in last night...and spent 5 frantic hours trying to find his luggage (uniforms, etc.) that didn't make on the plane. Thankfully, it eventually showed up and his sponsor got him to the ship. It was about 2200 when he left the airport, so he didn't get much of a tour like he was hoping before officially reporting in today. So excited for him!

My son just joined the JPJ last week. I enjoy hearing from him and how great everyone has been to him thus far.
