Talked to Aaron last night also. This is a little different then when Tara left. We got to see her off and give her a hug, I don't like not being able to give him one.

Smooth sailing to all, even us.

I already put in my suggestion to my hubby, he's for it. And I already told Tara to save her leave and hopefully we could all go and be together. Thats all I want for Christmas.....when ever that will be. :)

But hopefully Tara will be home for the holidays....if not before.

Hey Nan, I know how you feel. I'll cheer you up. I have TWO that I am missing.
And due to circumstances beyond her control (and a Mammas) Tara still has not gotten her leave since she got back from deployment in July.
These past few months have just not been good.

We will all have to have a cyber Christmas party on here. It is going to be rough this year.

I'm starting to think about going to Hawaii for the homecoming. Lets all start saving our money and we can have a 'Meet and Greet" What do ya say???

LOL! You never know where that little guy will pop up!!
Talked to Aaron over the weekend, he did not go anywhere. He is healing, he sounded much better. I think the shock and disappointment has has somewhat wore off.
Thanks for all the good thoughts for him.

Well, unfortunately Aaron is flying back to Hawaii as I type. Last Friday he and some guys were swimming after class, just for practice and he got kicked in the ear and he tore the membrane. And it will take 4-6 weeks to heal. So there is no way he can dive till it heals. The next class is in Oct but I don't think the chief will let him go right before they leave, so he will have to wait till they get back. Which in a my eyes, I think it will be better due to the fact the it should be well healed by then. I think Oct would have been to close.

He is so bummed he wanted this so bad. After all the practice and work outs only to have this fluke happen. But it does sound like he will be able to go back at some point. I hope he can, he really was enjoyed the first week of class that he got to attended and was looking forward to physical part that was coming up.
So I am bummed right along with him this weekend. :(

I was thinking of videoing and burning a DVD with messages from family and friends wishing him a Merry Christmas with some holiday Christmas music in the background. I'm starting now to record as I see people. The give it to him and tell him not to watch it till Christmas time.

I did the same thing for Tara while she had her Birthday while on deployment.

I sent my check in for the calendar and a picture. I also adopted a sailor.

Well Aaron has completed his first week of SCUBA school. I haven't talked to him since Mon. I hope to be able to talk to him this weekend as his 23rd birthday is on Sunday. This will be his third birthday away from home.

Nancy your right when you say scary for mom. When he was telling me about it he said....." you know, we need to go check for bombs and stuff when we leave port". Yea, exciting stuff. And yes he would get a pay raise. Hmmm....I wonder if I get a pay raise for worrying?
