Welcome, it's good to see the Columbia get a few more members. My son Aaron has been on the Columbia for almost a year. I wonder if they know each other.
This is great that you have 3 years experience with the boat. I have had good luck with the Ombudsmen so far. She was right on top of things when they were coming to San Diego in Oct. We got to see Aaron and his sister who is in Pendleton.
I was wondering about the news letter. Thanks for letting us know. I had been looking for one ever since I gave her my address.
Look forward to finding out more.

We are hoping to go sometime next year also. But like you said, when to schedule is the big question.

I was in Oahu many years ago with girlfriends before I was married. And then the 4 of us went to Maui in 2001. Always said we wanted to go back.

Aaron had been thinking about joining the Navy in his senior year. He went to Oahu after HS graduation with some of his class. After he went to Pearl Harbor he made up his mind. The first thing he said when he got home was, I'm joining! And his first choice on his wish list was to be stationed in Hawaii. I guess he lucked out.

HI Kim, Yes this was Aarons first one. Other then the quick trips before. He seemed to really like it. In fact when they pulled in to San Diego we went down to see him and his sister because Tara is stationed in Camp Pendleton. He even gave us a tour of the sub. It was great to spend time with both of them, don't know when that will happen again.

Aaron took the week after Christmas but wont' be home.
We are hoping to get over there sometime next year.
