I'm already learning so much from these posts lol! Wow! I still have a lot to learn! I am so excited to start this journey with my husband!! We are planning on moving to Washington mid sept. Will we find out how soon it will be before he leaves when we arrive? We are expecting a baby in Jan. and I am so nervous he won't be around.

Here is the information from the Ombudsmen for Blue crew. It has no sensitive information in it. Re: the video: it appears to me to just be the married sailors, but I could be wrong. Hugs! k.

A quick reminder about the next mail drop! Letters and Cards (no packages!) will be collected between August 23rd and September 2nd.

How many letters can I drop off?
Please limit letters to ONE per sailor. An out-of-state mom or family member may send one as well. It can be mailed to one of the ombudsman addresses (noted below).

What address can we mail it to if I'm out-of-state?
You can mail to:

Tricia Bennon
5435 Mustang Lane
Bremerton, WA 98312

or

Marina Hogan
122 A Wencker Circle
Bremerton,WA 98312

What if my letter doesn't arrive in time to be sent?
It will be delivered when the boat returns.

Video
I was unable to upload the video due to the lenght of it. Please send an email to the FRG at alabamabluefrg@hotmail.com and they will work with you to get you a hard copy! (Or they might be more tech savy than I and get it online!)

Take care everyone and have a great week! Enjoy the sunshine!!!

~Trish

Terrie: My daughter-to-be and I are both ready for this cruise to be over. Sadly, I won't be there to welcome the boat... don't know about D-I-L; depends on what day it happens (work schedule). Do you know about the mail drop? LETTERS ONLY (no packages) -- get it there by Sept. 2. Let me know if you need details. Hugs! k.

Tayway: Welcome to ALABAMA! Your sailor is certainly taking you from coast to coast, right?! Most of us here are Blue crew, so we can put you in touch with the Ombudsman and FRG straight away. We have a great group here and we look forward to getting to know you, too! Hugs, k.

Hello. My husband just got his orders and we will be moving to Bangor Washington in a month. We are so excited! He is a YN and will be on the USS Alabama! Blue crew

Welcome, Marybeth! Your son has been stationed at "Naval Base Kitsap," (NBK for short). There are several Naval installations in the Bangor area, but this is where the subs live. I'm so glad to have another member of the 'Bama crew here. Has your son been assigned to the Blue crew or Gold? Most of us here are Blue moms; Tammy and PIckles are the only Gold moms and would LOVE some company!

We're happy to put you in touch with the Ombudsman and FRG for your crew. Looking forward to getting to know you... Hugs! k.

OK... it's just WAAAYYY too quiet! I know that Pen is alive.... anyone else tired of this cruise already? My poor daughter-in-law-to-be is ready for it to be over. Don't know whether to tell her "Suck it up; it ain't even halfway!" -or- "Gimme the barstool next to ya; we'll cry into our beer together!"

HOWEVER, I keep thinking about seeing his pretty blue eyes while I eat Christmas dinner!!! Hugs everyone, k.

Hey, Yvonne... how was Nick's leave? Did he do anything special? I thought about you while Drew was here. When the kids were little, my husband started using the phrase, "Ya' gotta take care of the mama." I told Drew that Nick didn't go home this time and he said, "That's dumb. Ya' gotta take care of the mama."

Thanks so much, Pen. I love knowing the "go to" folks for good service (especially that "little something extra")! Now that son has a girlfriend, this info may come in handy. Let me also pass along The Candy Shoppe, in Port Orchard (http://thecandyshoppellc.com/). In '08, son was going to be cruising on his birthday (again). I realized two days before they left that I could send something with him. He LOVES Sour Patch Kids, so I "cleaned them out" and they delivered 7 pounds to his command office! Hugs, k.
