Hi, Ms.Smith! Another Blue! By pure dumb luck, so far we're ALL blue here.

Prepare yourself, mom, but your Sailor is going to get to ALABAMA a few weeks before she takes a 3-month cruise! We here learned to cruise with "training wheels on" because our guys have been going through 2-, 4-, and (this past summer) one 6-week shakedown cruises. We'll be here to hand you chocolates and tissues when you need them.

You might want to visit my page and find the blog entry about emailing a submarine. That's how we keep in touch with them while they're out. Welcome aboard! Hugs, k.

Hi, Tammy and welcome to the ALABAMA! ("Roll Tide!" is her motto). As Yvonne said, just through sheer luck, we all have boys who are one the Blue crew, but would welcome any Golds here. My husband, daughter, and I will be visiting Bangor in October to see our Sailor. We've never been before, so are excited to see a new part of the country.

Just above, see the link to "Lovely Links to Know." These will prove helpful to you as an ALABAMA mom.

If you'll visit my page, there are several blog entries there that can help you learn about submarines, submariners, and the ALABAMA. Be sure to join the "Sub Moms" group too for alot of helpful information. Just under the photo of the silver "dolphins" pin, is an area named "Discussion Forum." Click on "View All" in this box, and you'll see lots more submarine discussions. Hugs! k.

I posted this to Yvonne, but I'll include the rest of you: I'M TIRED OF THIS CRUISE!!! I'm ready for the stupid submarine to get back into port and get a phone call from my kid! Aaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!

(Thanks for letting me "decompress" a bit.) Hugs! k.

Terrie, Midshipmen are students at the Naval Academy. During the summer, sub commands gives them a ride (can't remember how long) to sell them on the idea of sub service. They are also called UABs = "Useless Air Breathers" and IFNAGS = Ignorant (foolish) Naval Academy Grads!

I hope everyone got the notice about the mail drop that happened this past week. I'm sorry not to have posted it here, but it's been a crazy week! I barely managed to get four car magazines FedExed to Jena' in time. Haven't heard from Himself to know if he has them yet.

They've got some midshipmen on board, so the guys feel like "old salts" compared to the nubs on board! Hugs, k.

There, there, Terrie... it'll be ok, soon. My kid said this cruise is going to be a "shorty," then the real long one will be next. What have you heard?

OK, girls, did I miss something? Why do we need to take deep breaths?! Did they go out? (I'm out of town, so haven't been "in the loop"). Somebody let me know some facts before I start using my IMAGINATION! k.

Nick gots fish?! Oh gosh, more fireworks: Booooommmm, Chhhhhhhh! Boooooooom, Chhhhhhhhhh!!! Yay, Nick!

Hey, Terrie; I read somewhere else that Chance is (was?) sick. Is he better now? Do we need to get that sub disinfected? ;-) k.
