Ladies,
Have you ever helped with a "Molly's Adopt-A-Sailor" project before? You REALLY should help THIS MONTH! Do you hear me?
I repeat... I REALLY encourage you to help Molly's Project (link) THIS MONTH!
READ MY LIPS! Volunteer this month!
Hugs, k.
Some news from the Blue FRG:
Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who came to the meeting. For everyone who were not able to attend we talked about a lot of important information so I wanted to make sure you all get it through this e-mail:
We are in the process of getting more involved and working together with the Alabama-Gold FRG... It sounds like there is going to be a combined Command picnic on July 31st (7/31)... most likely at Camp McKean, time TBD. When we know more information, you all will know more information also!
We want to encourage you ladies to set up more...groups... that you lead! Some ideas... hiking, craft groups,...If you have any other ideas... let me know.
I am starting a monthly FRG newsletter with upcoming events and other important information. The backside...is for you ladies to advertise your home businesses or invite other 'Bama Ladies to an event. Just e-mail me the information... Let me know if it is just for the next issue or to continuously be put on until further notice. These will be printed out and available at meetings and sent out in a monthly e-mail.
(On the Blue website, find the) June newsletter and an FRG survey that we would really appreciate being filled out and e-mailed back so we can see what everyone likes and dislikes about the current FRG and where you want to see it go in the future.
Thank you everyone for your patience and participation in making your FRG everything you want it to be! Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
Nicole Smith
Trina,
Thanks so much for joining our group and posting the Gold info! I didn't have it and can now help Gold moms find you more easily. Hugs, k.
Something that just came out that I thought you would like to know, if you don't have your son's ombudsman's contact info, you can still get vital information to him.
A call to 877-272-7337 allows Red Cross emergency communications services to put military personnel in touch with their families following the death or serious illness of an immediate family member, the birth of a service member's child or grandchild or when a family faces other emergencies. AdditionalRed Cross services such as case management and emergency financial assistance also are available.
I'm the chairman of the Gold Crew Family Readiness Group. I wanted to make sure you ladies know you are more than welcome to participate in the FRG. The FRG is the families of the sailors working together to support each other and our sailors. While primarily we end up doing local activities for the wives and children, we'd love to have input from the mom's as well.
Here is our contact information. I hope to hear from you. :D

Marybeth, I found your post too late for this afternoon, BUT IT'S ON AGAIN AT 7:00PM TONIGHT (Eastern time)!
A big "Welcome Aboard!" to our newest member, Denmacy! Your husband must be on Blue crew because her page says he's on his first patrol. Most of us here are Blues as well, with a couple of Golds to add some spice! Please feel free to ask questions, gripe, whine, or cry... we've all been there. Hugs! k.
Well, Drew got married in November, so this cruise is the first where I'm not the first priority of contact! That's a long way of saying, "I miss mine too!"
He's already re-upped once. He'll have 5 yrs this Sept, and with the re-up, he's in until Sep of 2014. His answer changes all the time, but THIS week he says he's going to stay in and try to become a Master Chief. But, ask him again tomorrow and he'll say the Navy is a load of crap and he can't wait to get out!
So sorry Marybeth that your visit won't work out, BUT... those who volunteer for add'l cruises earn their dolphins sooner and the command sees them as "motivated." He's doing alot of good for himself... be proud while you're waiting for him to stay in port long enough for you to get there! Hugs, k.
