Did everyone see the photos from the Blue crew Christmas party?!  Really funny... they had an "Ugly Holiday Sweater" contest and whoo, there are some absolutely UGLY sweaters!! (Don't miss Skipper's tie, either).

Becky, there are two pics where your sailor is standing next to mine... his sweater has not only an oak leaf, but also a heart (yechh).

Hope everyone had a good holiday.  We were SOOOOO grateful to have our son and new DIL for TWO WEEKS!  Maybe that time was my ration for next Christmas too - rumor has it that the Blues are underwater in December... (sigh).

BTW, while I was in Bangor for the wedding, the FRG had a fundraiser; they provided a Chili Lunch for $5.00 at the off-crew building.  Son took me and I got to meet the Ombudsmen, the Skipper & his wife, the COB, and "Doc" (boat's medic).  Plus, several other buddies, etc.  It was wonderful seeing where they office when not on the boat... remember visiting their classrooms during Public Schools Week? :-)

Hugs!  k.

hiding from the overcast, rainy, and cold weather today in Seattle... everyone pray for NO SNOW on Friday & Saturday! Working on rehearsal dinner centerpieces. Downloading some Bob Wills tunes. Can taste the BBQ already! Daddy and Sissy arrive late tonight. Savoring every moment with my boy :-)

Hi, Everyone! Am in Bangor right now, with my wonderful son and future daughter-in-law! Had a bridal shower today, so didn't get to see much; but will run errands tomorrow with DIL and see more of the town. Looking forward to seeing the base with son, going to the NEX and getting a new "Navy Mom" sweatshirt. Am hoping to have coffee/lunch with the two Ombudsmen this week also. Much to do before the wedding on Saturday! Hugs to all, k.

We all experience this differently, but personally I've found in the last four years, that the duration of my tears grows shorter, but the pain in my chest hurts the same. I've made up my mind that's a good thing... it's a sign of how much I love him :-)

Marybeth, have you asked the gold Ombudsman? She can ask the ship's command for you.

Tayway, I have a pretty good idea of what the answers are to your questions, but will not discuss them here for OPSEC reasons. Your husband can give you a more sound answer as soon as he reports to his new command. But, for the rest of his Naval career, remember that EVERYTHING is subject to change without prior notice!! If John Lennon will forgive me: "The Navy happens when you've made other plans." Hugs! k.
